The Trainer Who Makes Himself and Others Happy

Six days a week, Wolfgang Weithe-Berchtold is on the sports field as a children’s soccer coach. He does so on a voluntary basis and with a lot of passion. Every day that he can teach the children something great is a good day, explains Weithe-Berchtold with enthusiasm.

Wolfgang Weithe Berchtold has been a volunteer at the Flying Albatros soccer club for 36 years, serving as managing director and trainer. Even after all this time, he still regularly attends training courses to further develop his coaching skills. He describes the volunteers in his club as “the indispensable ones”. “After all,” he emphasizes, “ every club relies on many helpers and supporters.”

Christina Grommes, born in Troisdorf in 2000, lives by the motto “Anything is possible if you just want to”. Dancing has been one of her hobbies since childhood, which has also taught her discipline and teamwork skills. During the carnival season, she can be seen dancing passionately across the stages of Cologne’s carnival. In addition to guard dancing, show dancing and acrobatics, soccer also plays an important role in her family. No wonder that her previous works have focused on one theme in particular: sport.
