How do you become a tattoo artist?
In Germany, there is currently no legally regulated tattooist training program, so there are many different ways to enter the profession. Anyone who wants to work as a tattoo artist often learns the trade in collaboration with experienced colleagues, for example through an internship in a tattoo studio. Many studios also offer training or courses where you can learn how to use the machine. However, these offers are often subject to a fee.
Career starters often acquire the necessary skills on their own, for example by tattooing animal skin. In addition to technical skills, prospective tattoo artists should also train in drawing. They also need knowledge in the fields of medicine and hygiene to practice the profession.
According to an analysis by the career portal Stepstone, tattoo artists earn an average of 40,900 euros per year. The salary range extends from 33,600 euros to 49,600 euros.

Tabea Mansfeld
Tabea Mansfeld, born in Bonn in 2000, regularly uses her tablet to draw. Her artwork often “gets under your skin”, as her tattoo designs now adorn the bodies of some of her friends. In addition to drawing, she is a fan of the fantasy book series “Chronicles of the Underworld”, in which – how could it be otherwise – tattoos play a major role. When she’s not drawing or reading, she pursues her third passion: gaming. Her favorite games: Cyberpunk 2077, Apex Legends or Rocket League.

Carmen Lukas
Carmen Lukas, born in Bonn in 2001, has been an enthusiastic gamer since childhood. Unfortunately, she realized that women are a minority in the gaming scene and are often not adequately represented. She has therefore decided to focus on female perspectives in her media work and highlight the achievements of women. In addition to her passion for video games, she is also passionate about Disney animated films, especially those with strong female characters such as Belle, Tiana and Mulan.

Jörn Wiegard
Jörn Wiegard was already fascinated by animated films as a child. Whether animated productions such as “The Treasure Planet” or the anime of the Japanese studio Ghibli, the films awakened his enthusiasm for art and motivated him to produce his own videos. However, his focus is not only on fiction, but also on journalistic topics. When he is not working on his videos, he plays metal and pop-punk – sometimes on guitar, sometimes on bass.
